Best in The Netherlands
Zuyd has been in the top 3 of the big Dutch universities of applied sciences for many years. The ‘Keuzegids Hoger Onderwijs’, a guide offering independent information about all Dutch universities of applied sciences, draws up this ranking once a year. The guide bases its information on facts and figures from the universities and on extensive independent research, for example on student satisfaction. Zuyd was voted number one again in 2010 in the category ‘big universities of applied sciences’. We are of course proud of this number one ranking, and we will certainly do our utmost to keep this position!
Partner for businesses
Zuyd University is an important partner for Euroregional businesses and organisations as far as business courses, applied research, work placements and (graduation) projects are concerned. Through the University’s Research Centres, knowledge flows out of the University into the (Euro)region and vice versa. Zuyd University aims to be a Euroregional Gateway to Knowledge, bringing together students, staff, businesses and government institutions. It focuses on circulating knowledge, since “sharing knowledge” means “multiplying knowledge”.
In Maastricht Zuyd University of Applied Sciences has 5 campuses, where the Art departments (Academy of Music, Academy of Theatre and the Academy of Visual Arts and Design), the Maastricht Hotel Management School, and the Faculties of International Business and Communication, Education and Communication and Multimedia Design are located.
The International Business School is part of the Faculty of International Business and Communication, just as the study programmes of European Studies, Oriental Languages and Communication and the Translation Academy. The old convent which the faculty is conveniently located in, is within easy reach of the railway station and the city centre.
